Default HELP -- Instructions do not match directory structure

Hello --

I purchased Horizontal News Ticker 01 from FlashComponents.net (Flash Components - HTML / XML News Readers - Horizontal News Ticker 01).

The instructions that were provided say that I should move the directory "Horizontal News Ticker 01 by Flashtory" into my project folder but no such directory exists. It also speaks of a movie clip called "main" but I don't see that file either. Can you help? I've attached instruction file I received with the other files from FlashComponents.net. The zip file was too large to upload.

thanks,

To find "Horizontal News Ticker 01 by Flashtory", open source/main.fla and hit Ctrl+L. You will open the Library, which is structured on directories (this is extracted from the help file which you didn't read carefully enough: "Open main.fla and hit Ctrl+L to open the Library"). The main clip you mentioned is actually main.fla. For changing the height, please refer to the "How does the xml file looks like" section of the help file. You have to change the value of the height attribute. Please read carefully the help file, and you'll find all the information you need in order to use this component. DO NOT ever post links to/or attach source files to this forum. These are commercial files, and the forum is a public place. You'll be putting these files here for free, as anyone could download them, and you're not allowed to do that here or any other place.

Default Help with html

Hi,

when we publish swf file from your .fla file through Adobe Flash CS4 professional, you will get the html file. From that html file you can get the javascript function. Just you copy the javascript function and paste into your webpage.

Suppose if the HTML page is not gegerated, just go to File-->publish Settings-->Formats-->Select .swf and .html checkboxes.

and we click publish button it will generate both .swf fle and .html file.

Thanks,
Geetha

Adrian --

Thanks for the reply but there is no main.fla in the files I downloaded. The closest thing I have is:

HorizontalNewsScroller01\1-Source & Test\White Skin\source\index.fla

or

HorizontalNewsScroller01\1-Source & Test\Black Skin\source\index.fla

Do I have the wrong version of either the source code or the instructions?

thanks,

Default source files

Hi Adrian, I agree with Robynsf - the issues are confused because the files you are referencing are not given that name in the download. This is a good product but there doesn't seem much point providing a help file if it doesn't match the download files. Perhaps this could be revised in future. Thanks for adding info to this forum.
